More flowers lain, condolences penned, Two icons so real, could not pretend. A nation in mourning, beyond belief, A third portends to cement our grief. Doubling of sadness, dark of darkest weeks, Grown men shattered, weeping in the street. The animals are crying, The cars are humming still, A couplet of collective pain, A void no words can fill.
